Student Scholarship


About

The New Hampshire String Teachers Association will grant one $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior to pursue a major in music with string emphasis. The scholarship recipient will be announced in June, and the award will be paid to the recipient upon successful completion of the first semester of studies.


Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a New Hampshire high school or home school. They shall have been accepted to and made a commitment to attend an accredited four-year college the following fall in a degree program leading to a Bachelor degree in music with string emphasis.


Application

  1. Completed NHASTA Scholarship Application Form

  2. Written statement explaining some personal reasons why you wish to pursue music. Musical, work, or teaching-related experience (or other information) that would be helpful to the selection committee may be included. This should not exceed one page.

  3. Copy of college acceptance letter

  4. Two letters of recommendation. One will be from a string educator who is a current member of NHASTA and who has had the applicant in a class, ensemble, or private studio in the past year. The other will be from an adult who knows the student well and can comment on his/ her personal qualities and potential for success as a musician.
